Transforming Your Life: Understanding the Differences Between Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT)®️, Hypnotherapy, Psychotherapy, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

The Differences between Hypnotherapy and RTT

Are you feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck in negative thought patterns, habits and behaviours? If so, therapy may be a helpful tool to help you navigate these challenges and move towards a happier, more fulfilling life. But with so many types of therapy available, how do you know which one is right for you?

In this blog post, we'll explore the similarities and differences between four popular types of therapy: Psychotherapy, Hypnotherapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Rapid Transformational Therapy®️ (RTT®️).

Psychotherapy, also known as talk therapy, is a form of therapy where individuals talk about their problems with a trained professional. The goal of psychotherapy is to help individuals understand their feelings and behaviors, gain insight into their emotions, and learn how to manage them effectively. Psychotherapy typically involves weekly or bi-weekly sessions that last anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour.

During psychotherapy sessions, individuals are encouraged to discuss their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours in a safe and non-judgmental environment. The therapist may use various techniques to help the individual explore their thoughts and emotions, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), or psychodynamic therapy.

Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a form of talk therapy that focuses on helping individuals identify and change negative patterns of thinking and behavior. CBT sessions typically last between 45 minutes to an hour and involve regular meetings with a trained therapist.

During CBT sessions, the therapist will work with the individual to identify negative thoughts and behaviors and develop strategies to replace them with more positive and productive ones. This may involve techniques such as journaling, role-playing, or homework assignments.

Both Psychotherapy and CBT work with the conscious mind. The 5% of the mind that is involved in logic, reasoning, and creativity.

Hypnotherapy on the other hand, is a form of therapy that uses hypnosis to help individuals achieve a state of deep relaxation and focus. An important point to note is that there are various modalities of hypnotherapy. Each modality will have a different approach. It is important for you to do your research to find the modality that best suits your needs.

In general, hypnotherapy is often used to help individuals overcome a range of emotional and psychological issues, including anxiety, depression, and phobias. During hypnotherapy sessions, individuals are guided into a trance-like state where they are more open to suggestion.

The therapist may use various techniques to help individuals achieve a hypnotic state, including guided imagery, relaxation techniques, and positive affirmations. Once the individual is in a hypnotic state, the therapist may use suggestion therapy to help them overcome their emotional and psychological issues.

Rapid Transformational Therapy®️ (RTT®️) is a multi-award-winning hybrid therapy that combines principles of hypnotherapy, psychotherapy, CBT, NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) and Neuroscience to help individuals achieve rapid and lasting transformation. RTT is designed to help individuals overcome a range of emotional and psychological issues, including anxiety, depression, PTSD, addictions, phobias, psychosomatic illnesses, chronic pain, self-sabotage, self-esteem issues and much more.

During an RTT session (usually between 1.5 – 3 hours), the therapist will guide the individual into a hypnotic state using relaxation techniques and guided imagery. Once the individual is in a hypnotic state, the therapist will use a variety of techniques specific to the RTT process. This includes:

  • regression to at least 3 – 4 significant memories, and parts work to determine what the role, function, purpose, and intention of the issue is to address the root cause,

  • emotional processing & release and inner child healing,

  • reframing and changing old, outdated beliefs,

  • installing new, powerful, positive, accurate, empowering beliefs,

  • and after the session you will receive a bespoke hypnosis audio recording to listen to daily for at least 21 days. This is to reprogram your mind by creating new neural pathways that support your new beliefs, habits, thoughts, and behaviours.

The goal of RTT is to help individuals achieve rapid and lasting transformation, usually within 1 – 3 cycles of RTT.

Both hypnotherapy and RTT work with the subconscious mind, the 95% responsible for all your deeply programmed beliefs, habits, behaviours, memories, and automatic body functions such as breathing, temperature, digestion, and heart rate.

Key Differences between RTT®️, Hypnotherapy, CBT, and Psychotherapy

While RTT, hypnotherapy, CBT, and psychotherapy share some similarities, there are some key differences between them. Here are some of the main differences:

Psychotherapy focuses on helping individuals gain insight into their emotions and behaviors, while hypnotherapy, CBT, and RTT use a combination of relaxation techniques and suggestion therapy to help individuals overcome their emotional and psychological issues.

Hypnotherapy is focused on achieving a state of deep relaxation and focus to make the individual more open to suggestion, while CBT and psychotherapy do not involve hypnosis.

CBT is a structured and goal-oriented approach that focuses on changing negative patterns of thinking and behaviour in the present, while psychotherapy and hypnotherapy may involve exploring past traumas or events to gain insight into present behaviours, and emotions.

RTT®️ takes a different approach by effectively integrating principles of hypnotherapy, psychotherapy, CBT, NLP, and Neuroscience to bring about rapid and lasting change, often in just 1-3 session cycles. In comparison, other therapies may require significantly more time and sessions, sometimes even spanning years, to achieve comparable results.

Choosing the Right Therapy for You

When choosing a therapy, it's important to consider your specific needs and goals. If you're looking to gain insight into your emotions and behaviours, psychotherapy may be the right choice for you. If you're looking to achieve a state of deep relaxation and focus, hypnotherapy may be a good option. If you're looking to change negative patterns of thinking and behaviour, CBT may be the right choice.

For those looking for rapid, lasting transformation and healing, RTT may be the best option for you, especially if you find yourself stuck, repeating the same behaviours and patterns without true understanding, relief, and healing.

This is where RTT can be powerful in liberating you from the pains of the past and allowing you to move forward in life to experience the success, happiness, freedom, and transformation you deserve and desire.

Ultimately, the best therapy for you will depend on your individual needs and goals. Whatever form of therapy you choose, it is important to work with a trained therapist, working within their scope of practice.
